Amanda Knox’s Diane Sawyer Interview: Court Ruling Is ‘Painful’

The 25-year-old says she wants to be ‘reconsidered as a person’ in her first appearance since being cleared of all charges in 2011. Unfortunately, Amanda’s now facing the possibility of a retrial. Watch the preview of her exclusive interview with Diane Sawyer, airing April 30 at 10 p.m. on ABC.

Amanda Knox, who spent 1,400 days in an Italian prison after being convicted of murdering her college roommate, Meredith Kercher, in 2007, says that what happened to her “could have happened to anybody,” and that her experience in Italy was “surreal.” An Italian appeals court overturned the ruling in 2011, and Amanda now wants to be “reconsidered as a person.” However, that may prove to be difficult since Italy’s highest court last month overturned their acquittal. Amanda now faces a retrial.
