Arsenal are set to be without star man Mesut Ozil for the busy Christmas period after Arsene Wenger confirmed he has picked up a troublesome shoulder injury.
Ozil was surprisingly left out of the Gunners’ squad for their clash with Newcastle, with reports suggesting he had picked up some kind of late injury.
And speaking before kick-off, Wenger confirmed the news by revealing that he has sustained a shoulder problem that will keep him out for the rest of the festive period.
‘I would have loved to have Ozil here but he has a shoulder problem, after falling on his shoulder,’ Wenger explained.
‘He will be out for two to three games. We have a good squad and now’s the time to show it.’
Losing Ozil will be a blow for Arsenal, but the 25-year-old seemed in good spirits…
