The Daily Erasure

the house on 36th

looks like a milk carton, the
single-serving kind

he told me it was sunny
my mother
remembers clouds
I committed to rain. I liked
how it darkened the bed

I saw the shadow of
light by the window, skin wiped
clean
to reveal

a girl born
in the shade of

Truth

Created from pg 300 of A Girl Named Truth, a memoir by Alethea Kehas
