Why do I write? Th
e question comes to me often, and is also one of the most frequent questions I get. It always stumps me a bit, but I know it to well. I write because there will never exist a day or a reality where I can´t. There can be days and even weeks where I am occupied by “life” where I am not able to write, but I have to keep that to a minimum. I feel awful, almost sick, the moment I am not able, or are hindered to write. A life without writing would not be much of a life for me. My writing sessions are my time off, my way out, the creation of a universe where only I exist. When I write, nothing else matters, and that feels absolutely amazing. Ted Geisel, better known as Dr Seuss, wasn’t only a great writer of kid’s books, he was a great fighter for social justice. That’s why he opposed the so-called “Pro-Life” movement. He saw through their rhetoric and realised that they were nothing more than a front for the nastiest wing of the Republican Party. I think that we can and should cut abortions… in fact, most “Pro-Choice” people agree to that (they’re NOT the ravening baby-killers caricatured by the Randall Terrys of this world). Indeed, if we call ourselves Christians, we should NOT work to illegalise abortion… instead, we should look for ways to make it possible for hard-up moms to keep their kids and to help poor families live in dignity. That is, we shouldn’t cut Food Stamps or any other social welfare programme to suck up…

Veterans in the United States face ongoing economic hardship. Despite being lauded by the media and political establishment as “heroes,” they face high rates of poverty and unemployment.
One in nine veterans is living at or below the poverty line, and 13 percent of homeless people in the US have been in the military.
Employment prospects for veterans who served in Iraq or Afghanistan are dismal. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, as of October 2013 they faced an official unemployment rate of 10 percent, compared to a rate of 7.3 percent for the general population. I`m not quite in the mood to sort out my thoughts about how this year has been or how the next one should be etc. Maybe later… 🙂
For the time being, I simply want to enjoy this peacefulness, these laaazy mornings when I can afford the luxury of staying in bed until late morning and that of preparing breakfast at home.
What can it be better than doing things in your own rhythm rather than the one dictated by someone or something else?

Another angel will watch over me this christmas
Christmas is the time to spend with your loved ones, family, friends and people you hold close in your life. It is also the celebration of remembrance and care. The older you get, the more you appreciate what is close to your heart, and you loose more and more people in your life, that you stop and remember on this time a year.
I have many stars and angels shining bright for me, singing me melodies of remembrance during Christmas, and I hold them so close to my heart. It makes Christmas hard for me listening to them sing, but at the same time it feels good hearing their voice, because then I know I am still connected to them and they are joining me in the celebrations as well. Christmas is the time for peace and love.
